My Priorities

The Next 4 Years

Since 2018, the City of Charlottetown has grown immensely. I am proud of the work we have accomplished to make our city a wonderful place to live, work and play. Our good work has been recognized across the country, as Charlottetown was ranked the number one place to live by Maclean’s magazine in 2021. As Mayor, it has been a privilege to serve this city and all of its people over the past four years. I believe that better is always possible, and if I am re-elected Mayor of Charlottetown, my top priorities will include:
● Build on public trust by increasing transparency and accountability at City Hall so that all City residents can have the utmost confidence in their municipal government
●
Continue to promote active transportation by building more cycling lanes to make Charlottetown a leader in bike and active transportation infrastructure
●
Support green initiatives by purchasing electric buses, expanding bus routes, and increasing the number of electric vehicle charging stations to reduce our carbon pollution and enhance our environment
●
Address climate change and prepare for the effects of rising sea levels and more severe weather events by investing in critical infrastructure to protect residents and businesses alike
●
Continue to work with governments to create even more affordable housing units, and examine what municipal zoning changes will allow for more development of housing options
●
Invest in continued improvements to our wi-fi capabilities and the expansion of our fibre optics network
● Reduce costs through continued shared services in the capital region
